Park City Real Estate Market Report

October 2013 

The Park City board of REALTORS® just released the October 2013 data comparing the inventory, sales or number of closed single family homes, town homes, and condos as compared to this same time last year. According to Jeff Spencer, President of the Park City Board of REALTORS®, "Our REALTORS® sold more in the first three quarters of 2013 than we did during the entire year in 2012."

Total Sales Dollar Volume

The 2013 third quarter brought some great news to the Park City real estate community! With an increase to 26% over last year's number for the number of sales reported running at 1,668. The total dollar sales volume performed even better with sales reaching $1.19 billion, which is up 34%

Evidently, CoreLogic Home Price Index recently reported that U.S. home prices have increased in nearly all major cities, and were up 12.4 percent year-over-year in August.

The Park City board of REALTORS just released the real estate market comparison year to date comparison report from January 1, 2013 through August 31, 2013. So far 2013 has proved to be a good market in most areas of Park City, Utah. The mid-year comparison report for single family homes in the Park City area reported the average sales price at $921,424 which has increased 13.6% over 2012 which was $810,887.  As the pace of sales continue to increase our sales volume in 2013 sky rocketed to 597,082,833 which is a 35.6% increase over last years sales volume of $440,311,509. The national housing market continues to show great gains lately, according to recent data from the Standard & Poor’s Case/Shiller home price index and other national sources.

Despite some setbacks like rising mortgage rates, the housing market is on an upward swing.
